
Lona Teague
Lona Teague serves as the Director, Fiscal and Business Operations at the Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA). This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its mission by working closely with the CFA team to support the success of the organization and growth of future initiatives. Lona’s passion and expertise is helping nonprofits reach their full potential. This is accomplished by finding innovative solutions to complex financial issues, as well as leading the execution of business strategies that are critical to helping CFA advance its mission to create a stronger and brighter future for our state.
For the past fifteen years, Lona has dedicated her career to serving nonprofit organizations in the greater Phoenix region by providing expertise as a financial executive and transformational leader. During her time at UMOM New Day Centers, Inc., she led the organization during an extended period of expansion when the budget doubled in size. Additionally, she provided oversight for the $24 million capital project to build out the headquarters and shelter. For the past seven years, her role at the Greater Phoenix Chamber and Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation has seen extensive growth in the size of the budget and programmatic additions, primarily in workforce and education. During this time, she utilized technology and innovation to modernize various financial and operational processes, ensuring the organization stayed agile and progressive.
Earlier in her career, Lona spent the first ten years in the financial services industry serving in various roles in the finance and accounting departments. During this time she secured certifications in the General Securities Representative Qualification Examination (Series 7) and the Financial and Operations Principal Qualification Examination (Series 27).
In the community, Lona has been a Board of Director for the Tempe Community Council and an active participant with various nonprofits including UMOM New Day Centers, Junior Achievement and Feed My Starving Children. She is a proud alumna of Arizona State University and holds a B.S. degree in Finance from the W.P. Carey School of Business. In 2019, she completed the Arizona State University Leadership Institute program which works to enlighten, inspire, and transform leaders from diverse communities. In 2013, the W.P. Carey Alumni Magazine highlighted her passion for the nonprofit sector and being inspired to give back to the community.
