Our Work

By bringing Arizona community colleges, K-12 schools, and industry together, CFA has identified the skills and credentials needed for employment in high-demand sectors – such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare, and cybersecurity – and designed pathways that enable students to earn at least 12 college credits while in high school.

CFA convenes key stakeholders from K-12, community colleges, and universities to listen, learn, problem-solve, innovate, and act to increase early college opportunities for students. We work with industry partners to identify high-need, high-growth, high-wage jobs. We use the insights to align middle school through high school career exploration, early college programs, and work-based learning experiences with relevant industries and careers.

Why it Matters

We know early college programs of study make a difference in the future success of students. Research shows that students who earn college credit while in high school are more likely to graduate, continue into post- secondary education, and complete a degree.

That's why we are determined to ensure that all Arizona high school students have the option to complete at least 12 college credits before they graduate. To accomplish this, we’re working to identify the barriers to equitable access and collaborating with our partners to overcome those obstacles and expand access to dual enrollment for all Arizona students.
